Everything But The Kitchen Sink?

By Kevin Burke
26th January, 2015

A man has escaped jail after stealing domestic appliances including a hob, a washing machine, a cooker and a boiler.

On January 12th, Adam Price-Stephens, of Fort Crescent, Margate, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft, fraud and possession of drugs in a hearing at Thanet Magistrates' Court, and was sentenced to 120 days' jail suspended for 18 months.

He must also pay an £80 victim surcharge, pay £2,910 compensation, and attend drug dependency treatment.

The court heard that 27-year-old Price-Stevens had repeatedly targeted the same Fort Cresent, Margate property.

Between November 1st and December 21st 2014, he stole a hob, a cooker, a washing machine and a boiler from the property.

Then, between 16th December and 19th December, he stole two drills, a television set and a stereo system from the premises.

All of the appliances and items stolen were of unknown value.

On December 18th, Price-Stephens sold a drill that he did not rightfully own, intending to make £10. This was an offence of fraud.

In Margate, on December 23rd 2014, he was found to have three wraps of heroin.
